Waipara Collection “Huntaway” Late Pick Riesling 2013 – Review
Michael Cooper has recently reviewed this wine and awarded it 5 stars, the highest star rating you can get.

“Delicious now, the 2013 vintage is a great buy. Bright, light yellow/green, it’s a sweet but not super-sweet wine, long and lovely, with rich, peachy, gently honeyed flavours, fresh acidity, bottle-aged complexity and a lasting, very harmonious finish.”

The Waipara Collection wines are only made in the years when the season and the weather has produced fruit with exceptional characteristics. In 2013 we had a wonderful vintage and left a select parcel of Riesling grapes on the vine for extended ripening.
The resulting Late Pick Riesling is slightly sweet without being a “sticky” wine. It is vibrant and full of lemon and lime fruit flavours. It’s great to enjoy it with soft goat’s cheese and light crackers on a Friday evening with friends.
After aging in the bottle for 5 years this wine is truely wonderful, the flavours have matured and it is a zesty treat!
